SQL is amazingly Lindy because it is pervasive and easy to get started on, but it’s not without issues. There are lots of proposals for how to solve some of these issues in replacement languages like KQL, PRQL or Malloy, but Google wants to introduce the changes directly into the SQL dialect for BigQuery and Spanner.
